Prepared explosions at airfields: An RF spy was detained in the Rivne region

In the Rivne region, law enforcement officers detained a Russian agent who, on the orders of enemy special services, was spying on military infrastructure in the region. The coordinates were needed by the Russians to prepare missile strikes on airfields and logistics warehouses of the Defence Forces.

This was reported on Sunday, June 15, on the official Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine. It is noted that the 24-year-old detained man was gathering coordinates for an air attack by Russian troops.

The SSU reported that an unemployed resident of Rivne region was remotely recruited by Ilya Kudryavtsev, a staff member of the central office of the FSB of the Russian Federation. The Russians found him through Telegram channels where he was looking for "easy money."

"After recruiting, the agent received instructions from his handler to search for military sites, reconnoiter ’on the ground,’ and transmit coordinates. To carry out the mission, the individual installed a hidden camera in his car and then drove around the area, recording Defence Forces locations on video. SSU employees exposed the agent and detained him ’red-handed’ while he was filming the external perimeter of a military facility," the message said.

The Security Service conducted measures to secure the locations of Ukrainian troops.

At the scene and in the detainee’s residence, a phone, a hidden surveillance camera, and other evidence of working for the enemy were seized.

"SSU investigators notified the individual of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed under martial law). The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property," the agency added.
