In Vinnytsia, former heads of the State Food and Consumer Service were detained for bribery and possession of drugs


The former leadership of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia region is suspected of corruption and abuse – they distributed official housing for bribes.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General on August 9.

The former leadership of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia region is suspected of corruption and abuse – they distributed official housing for bribes. Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigations are investigating a criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Article 368, Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the message states.

The suspects in the case:

the former head of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia region ,

the former head of the Vinnytsia District Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

The story dates back to April 2025 when the officials offered their subordinate official housing in Nemirov for a bribe of 12,000 US dollars. An advance payment was to be made by the employee at the beginning, with the remainder paid after receiving the housing in ownership.

On April 24, during the receipt of 6,000 US dollars as part of the agreed sum of unlawful benefit, the then-head of the Vinnytsia District Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection was detained. He was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure was chosen.

Further investigation gathered evidence of the guilt of another official, who was, at the time, the head of the Main Department of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia region.

During a search of his residence, cocaine and methamphetamine, which he stored, were seized.

Under the procedural direction of the Prosecutor’s Office on August 8, he was also informed of the suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 and Part 1 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

A motion has been submitted to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of over 3 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation continues.

The procedural direction is carried out by the Office of the Prosecutor General, with operational support from the Main Operational Department of the State Bureau of Investigations.
