Kateryna Rozhkova was dismissed from the NBU: her position was taken by Serhiy Nikolaychuk

The first deputy governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), Kateryna Rozhkova, has been dismissed from the National Bank. The formal reason is the expiration of the seven-year term of office. At the same time, it is worth noting that the court found Rozhkova guilty of costing Ukraine nearly 1.5 billion UAH due to the bankruptcy of Platinum Bank.

The decision to dismiss Rozhkova was made at the NBU Council meeting on August 15, 2025. According to the law, the deputy governors of the NBU are appointed and dismissed by the National Bank Council upon the recommendation of the NBU governor.

Serhiy Nikolaychuk has been appointed to replace Rozhkova as the first deputy governor of the NBU. He held the position of deputy governor of the National Bank since July 2021, and before that, he advanced within the central bank from an economist to the director of the Department of Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis.
