As a result of Russia’s new massive strike on Ukraine, residential buildings and civil infrastructure in 14 regions were damaged. Nearly 540 drones, 8 ballistic, and 37 other missiles were used against peaceful life.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this.
"In Zaporizhzhya, all services are engaged at the site of the Russian strike on a residential five-story building. Unfortunately, as of now, it is known about one deceased and dozens injured, including children. Once again, an ordinary residential building," explained the president.
He noted that this night, air defence and emergency services also operated in other regions. Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Rivne, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions were affected by the strike.
"There were many fires, mainly civilian infrastructure suffered: houses, enterprises. Almost 540 drones, 8 ballistic, and 37 missiles of other types were launched by the Russians against ordinary life," he added.
Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine has already seen the world’s reaction to the previous shelling.
"But now, when Russia again shows that it doesn’t care for words, we count on real actions. It is clearly understood that the time allocated for preparing the meeting at the leadership level was used by Moscow to prepare new massive attacks," emphasized the president.
According to the head of Ukraine, the only way to reopen the window of opportunity for diplomacy is tough tariffs against everyone who funds the Russian army and effective sanctions against Moscow itself: banking and energy.
"This war will not stop with political statements - real steps are needed. We are waiting for actions from America, Europe, and the whole world," stressed the president.
Recall that on the night of August 30, the Russians carried out a massive missile-drone attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Lutsk, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipro, and other regions of the country were under fire.
