The counterintelligence of the Security Service prevented a new terror attack in Lviv. As a result of proactive measures, two minors were identified who, on behalf of Russia, attempted to blow up a townhouse where a Defence Forces soldier resided.

As reported by the Security Service, to commit the crime, the teenagers left a homemade explosive device (HED) near the entrance of the house, which they concealed in a flower pot.

So that the Russian special services could remotely activate the explosives when the military approached the residence, the agents additionally set up a phone camera with remote access at the "location" for the curator from Russia.

"The Security Service officers timely uncovered the enemy’s plan and caught the perpetrators ’in the act’ when they were placing the HED at the entrance of the townhouse.

According to the case materials, the perpetrators turned out to be two residents of Lviv, aged 14 and 15, who were recruited by the enemy on Telegram channels seeking ’easy money.’

After receiving instructions from the occupiers, the youngsters received coordinates from which they picked up the explosives from a cache and then planted them at the planned terror site.

During their capture, equipped explosives and smartphones with evidence of contacts with the curator were seized from the perpetrators," the report states.

The Security Service investigators charged the teenagers with suspicion under Part 2 of Article 15 and Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (completed attempt to commit a terrorist act by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).
