TRCs have no right to demand citizens to undergo an annual medical examination to obtain a deferment.
This was reported by the Ground Forces Command in response to a request from MP Honcharenko.
"The key point from this response: if you have been deemed fully fit without restrictions, there is no need to undergo a military medical commission (MMC) every year. The previous MMC result is not automatically invalidated. They have no right to deny a deferment due to an «outdated» MMC. The law does not provide for any liability for «not undergoing an MMC once a year». Only those deemed partially fit or temporarily unfit are sent for a repeat MMC. The conclusion is simple: the TRC’s demands to «update the MMC every year» are an abuse of power. The law does not stipulate this," Honcharenko writes.
