Zelenskyy: Putin is trying to deceive Trump to avoid sanctions

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to deceive Donald Trump and the United States to delay the imposition of new sanctions.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as reported by Sky News.

During a conversation with Yalda Hakim at the Presidential Palace in Kyiv, the head of state was asked whether he considers the summit of Russian and American leaders in Alaska, which took place in August, a mistake.

"I think it gave a lot to Putin. And I believe that if it had been a trilateral meeting, we would have had some result," Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the president is convinced that Putin is trying to deceive Trump.

"He (Putin. - Ed.) is doing everything possible to avoid sanctions, so that the USA and Trump do not impose sanctions on him. And if you keep delaying their implementation, then the Russians will be better prepared," Zelenskyy said.
