On the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhya region, Russian Lieutenant Vasyl Marzoev, the son of the commander of the 18th Combined Arms Army of Russia, General Arkady Marzoev, was killed.
This was reported by Ukrainian journalist Denys Kazanskyi.
Propagandists claim that 21-year-old Vasyl Marzoev died "while performing a combat mission." An aerial bomb struck the building where the occupier was located. Russian war correspondents immediately began portraying the general’s son as a hero.
«Vasyl, who himself sustained injuries and a concussion, managed to save two subordinates from the ruins of the building, dragging them to a safe distance from the impact zone, thereby saving their lives. He then returned for a third wounded subordinate, whose search was complicated. At that moment, the enemy launched a second airstrike, which ended the life of the brave commander... He was buried under the debris of the building. For a day, while clearing the rubble, the paratroopers hoped they could save the officer, but it was beyond their power. For the heroism, courage, and self-sacrifice shown in the performance of military duty, Guards Lieutenant Vasyl Marzoev has been posthumously nominated for the title of Hero of the Russian Federation,» – the propagandists’ statement reads.
