Coal shortage may cause "serious difficulties" in Ukraine, - MP Kamelchuk

In Ukraine, "serious difficulties" may arise in the near future due to a coal shortage.

This was stated by Member of Parliament Yuriy Kamelchuk (Servant of the People party).

He emphasized that many mines in the east of the country have been closed or lost due to the war.

In western Ukraine, 7 mines are operational, some of which have reserves for decades; however, "state policy in the coal sector remains ineffective," and funds are being "drained" from the industry.
