On Thursday, October 30, the High Anti-Corruption Court applied preventive measures in the form of detention until December 28, 2025, inclusive, to two suspects in the case of embezzlement of funds during the procurement of drones for the Defence Forces of Ukraine, while also providing the possibility of posting bail.
This was reported by the press service of the HACC.
According to law enforcement, two officials of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection and two representatives of private companies organized a criminal scheme to embezzle funds during the procurement of drones for the Defence Forces of Ukraine, causing losses to the State Budget of Ukraine amounting to over 90 million UAH.
What specific preventive measures were chosen for the suspects?
A preventive measure in the form of detention until December 28, 2025, inclusive, was applied to the owner of a Lviv-based company. As an alternative, bail was set at 15,140,000 UAH.
In case of posting bail, procedural obligations will be imposed on the suspect.
The aforementioned individual is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 5 of Article 27 and Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A preventive measure in the form of detention was also applied to another suspect in the case concerning the alleged overpricing during the procurement of drones. The suspect was taken into custody directly in the courtroom.As an alternative, the court set bail at 12,112,000 UAH.
