Russian law enforcement officers clarified that this is due to the destruction of monuments to Soviet soldiers.

According to Russian opposition media, this is the first time when Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against the current head of another state.

Estonian Secretary of State Taimar Peterkop, Lithuanian Minister of Culture Simonas Kairis and members of the Latvian Seimas were also put on the wanted list. This is also reported to be related to the demolition of Soviet monuments.
