The Indian Embassy in Russia reported the death of its citizen. Relatives of the deceased claim his participation in the war against Ukraine.
At the same time, The Statesman writes that 30-year-old Asfan from Telangani came to Russia in December 2023 because he was promised a job there, assuring that it was not related to combat operations. Later, Asfan was forced to sign an agreement in Russian, which he did not know, and as a result he found himself in a combat zone.
Asphan’s family blamed recruiting agents for his death and asked the Indian government to help bring his remains home.
