The Russian Armed Forces still hold the initiative in Ukraine. And the pace of their offensive operations began to increase again.

This was stated by the commander of the intelligence center of the Estonian Defence Forces, Ants Kiviselg, reports ERR .

Colonel Kiviselg reported that the pace of Russian operations in Ukraine, which had previously been declining, began to increase again. This is especially true for ground forces. However, despite the increased pace of operations, Russia’s operational and tactical goals still remain unfulfilled.

Kupyansk-Lyman axis

In the Luhansk region, the main activity was observed on the Kupyansk-Kremenna-Svatove line. Kiviselg reported that the Russian Armed Forces captured additional territories in the Kupyansk and Lyman districts.

According to him, the likely goal of the Russian Federation in the Kupyansk region is control over a section of the Oskol River and a section of the Zherebets River in the direction of Lyman.

“Although the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation maintain the initiative along the entire front line, the Russian advance in the direction of the Liman over the week was very insignificant, and Russia did not reach the aforementioned river lines,” he said.

Donetsk region

In the Donetsk direction, the main military operations are taking place in the areas of Bakhmut and Avdiivka.

“In both regions, the armed formations of the Russian Federation have advanced. Fortunately, this is to a very small extent. In the north-west and west of the Bakhmut region there are certain shifts. There have been no significant changes at the front,” he said.

According to him, in the Avdiivka area, the Ukrainians managed to create two lines of defence and thereby prevented a further offensive by the Russian Federation. The Russian Federation also managed to achieve minor successes in the Donetsk region.

Southern Front of Ukraine

In the direction of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson, activity was slightly lower, as in the previous week.

“The greatest activity was observed in the Rabotyno and Verbove directions, where the Russian Federation was trying to advance,” Kiviselg said.

On the left bank of the Dnipro, the Ukrainian Armed Forces still hold the bridgeheads created there and repel Russian attacks in the area.
