Oleksandr Lytvynenko assured that Vladimir Putin "will not make a mistake" next time. According to him, the war in Ukraine had to put the West in front of a fact.

Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko has warnings for Western politicians advocating the start of peace negotiations with Russia. This is known from his interview with The Economist, published on April 15.

“(Vladimir - Ed .) Putin lied, is lying and will lie,” the NSDC Secretary emphasized.

He noted that the concession of territories in exchange for peace is a “cruel betrayal” of Ukrainians living under occupation. Litvinenko explained that many more innocent people would be killed or thrown into cellars.

The official also named a pragmatic reason for rejecting such an idea. The agreement will allow Russia to regroup and rearm in more than two to three years.

“Next time he will not make a mistake, but will prepare his operation much more carefully, according to all the laws of military art,” Lytvynenko warned.

He explained that the Russian President was “carried away” by the idea of seizing Ukraine and planned to present the West with a fait accompli with his “blitzkrieg”.

“He wanted to say: “Ukraine is over, guys, now we’re talking on my terms,” said the NSDC secretary.

In his opinion, the defeat of Ukraine would be a signal that the invasion is “working.”

“If aggression works once, everyone will think about trying it. Many people are watching this war too closely,” Lytvynenko said.

He emphasized that Putin still has not abandoned the goal of destroying Ukraine and turning it into a “buffer zone.”

“It is important to understand that Putinism has not yet completed its evolution. It may be even worse. If the West does not stop this, then later it will pay even more, and with its own life. Helping Ukraine is not charity,” added the NSDC secretary.
