Situation at the front: 91 military clashes occurred in 24 hours

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook , publishing operational information as of 18:00 on Saturday, April 20.

During the day, Defence Forces aircraft carried out strikes on eight areas where Russian personnel were concentrated.

Units of the missile forces inflicted defeat on the area of concentration of personnel, the composition of ammunition, air defense equipment, and the area of concentration of weapons and military equipment of the Russian Army.

The enemy carried out 14 missile and 48 air strikes, carried out 61 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas.

During the day, 91 military clashes were recorded.

The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged. No signs of the formation of Russian offensive groups have been detected.

In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi sectors, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage and reconnaissance activities, shells populated areas from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.

More than 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Senkivka, Leonivka, Yanzhulivka in Chernihiv region; Poznya, Kliusy, Pokrovka, Popivka and Miropilske in Sumy region.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russians did not conduct offensive (assault) operations, but conducted an air strike near the town of Synkivka in Kharkiv region.

About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Stepova Novoselivka, Ivanivka, Kotlyarivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman sector, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled nine attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops.

The Russian army also carried out air strikes near Novosadove and Yampolivka in Donetsk region. Artillery and mortar shelling affected more than 10 localities, including Nevske in Luhansk region and Terny, Torske in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 25 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Klishchiyivka, Ivanivske, Novyi, Donetsk region, where the enemy was trying to improve its tactical position.

The Russians also carried out air strikes near Chasiv Yar and New York in Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hryhorivka, Kalynivka and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, the Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 18 attacks in the areas of Semenivka, Novokalynove, Ocheretyno, Berdychi, Umanske and Yasnobrodivka in Donetsk region, where the enemy, with the support of aviation, tried to force Ukrainian units out of their positions.

The Russian army also carried out air strikes near Novobakhmutivka, Oleksandropil, Solovyovo and Novooleksandrivka in Donetsk region. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Semenivka, Novobakhmutivka, Ocheretyno and Netaylove in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinity of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane and Urozhayne in Donetsk region, where the enemy, supported by aviation, tried to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops 17 times.

The enemy also carried out air strikes near Krasnohorivka, Shakhtarske and Velyka Novosilka in the Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Paraskoviivka, Kostiantynivka and Vuhledar in Donetsk region.

In the Orikhivsk sector, Russians attacked Ukrainian defenders’ positions in the vicinity of Staromayorske, Donetsk region, with the support of aviation once. They carried out air strikes in the vicinity of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhya region.

About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Stepove, Shcherbaky and Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhya region.

In the Kherson sector, the enemy does not abandon its intention to push Ukrainian units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River.

Thus, during the day, with the support of aviation, it launched three unsuccessful attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the village of Krynky in Kherson region.

About 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, including Tyahynyka, Ivanivka, Novotyahynyka, Ponyativka, Sadove, Olhivka, Mykolaivka, Veletynske in Kherson region and the city of Kherson.
