This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Poland Wladyslaw Kosinyak-Kamysh after a meeting of the Polish government.
“We talked about this today at the Council of Ministers. It is very important, and we talked about this, that this be a decision at the European level. And I know that negotiations between Kiev and Brussels are ongoing on this topic,” Kosinyak-Kamysh said.
He also said that the Polish government has made changes to the law on assistance to Ukrainians, reports the local publication Tysol.
Temporary protection for Ukrainians was extended until September 30, 2025, but a number of payments were tied to the schooling of refugee children.
“We have signals that people are taking benefits and immediately going to Ukraine,” Kosinyak-Kamysh said.
