Explosion in Brovary: the police reported the official version of the emergency with a grenade

In Brovary, Kyiv region, on the evening of Saturday, May 11, a grenade explosion occurred. They wounded a law enforcement officer who arrived on a call regarding hooliganism, and the attacker himself.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kyiv region . They said that the police of the patrol police response department of the Brovary district police department received a call about hooliganism committed by an unknown person.

When they arrived at the specified address, the man started running. One of the law enforcement officers began to pursue him, after which the attacker threw a grenade towards the law enforcement officer, and there was an explosion.

“As a result of the explosion, a policeman and the offender himself were injured. The victims are currently receiving all necessary medical care,” the statement says.

It is noted that investigators are charging the detainee with Art. 348 of the Criminal Code (attack on the life of a law enforcement officer) and Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).
