Breakthrough of the border by the invaders in the Kharkiv region: SBI has launched an investigation

In Ukraine, law enforcement officers have begun a pre-trial investigation into the breach of the state border by troops of the Russian Federation in the Kharkiv region, reports the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the State Bureau of Investigation, on May 10, during the assault on Ukrainian positions, the invaders managed to break through the first echelon of defense and capture several settlements along the border line between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, causing losses to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and civilians.

Given the resonance of the proceedings, the best investigators and the leadership of the Main Investigation Department of the State Bureau of Investigation have been involved in the investigation, and there is close interaction with the operational units of the SSU. And also - full communication and support from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, OTG "Kharkiv" and OSGV "Khortytsia".

As part of the pre-trial investigation, the Bureau comprehensively checks the level of support and staffing of Ukrainian Armed Forces units, the construction of fortifications, interaction between military units, etc. Also, the actions of the leadership of all levels in the region are checked during the enemy’s offensive actions, before and after them, and possible facts of groundless abandonment of combat positions by Ukrainian Armed Forces units are investigated.

Now the minute-by-minute development of events has already been established. A number of important examinations have been appointed, which are planned to be completed in the near future.

Preliminary qualification - unauthorized abandonment of the battlefield and negligent attitude towards military service (Article 429, Part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
