Russian occupiers are launching kamikaze drones deep into Ukraine, equipped with cameras and invulnerable to mobile fire teams with machine guns.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation began using Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles with cameras in the daytime to monitor the rear of Ukraine. A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a radio technology specialist Serhiy Beskrestnov (Serhiy Flesh) wrote about this on his Facebook page on May 3.

The military man noted that the Russian occupiers regularly change the tactics of using “Shaheds”. So, recently the enemy began to launch during the daytime “Marines with cameras to study the rear. The drones fly at an altitude of 1.5-2.5 kilometers so that they are not shot down by mobile fire groups armed with machine guns. To destroy these devices, Ukrainian defenders use air defence systems” and radar warfare (EW).

“Electronic warfare against Shaheds (who have a CRPA antenna) is, one might say, an art,” noted Serhiy Beskrestnov.

What is known about “Shaheds” with cameras

In March of this year, photos of the wreckage of the Shahed, equipped with a camera, appeared on the Telegram channel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officer “Colonel General Staff”. The military man also explained the principle of operation of the camera on such a drone: the camera itself transmits the image via Wi-Fi to a 4G/Wi-Fi modem, which sends the signal to the Internet using a 3G/4G cellular network. Due to the broadcast on Telegram, Russians see in real time the use of air defense systems against drones, and also receive information about whether the target was hit or not.
