Ukraine’s air defence was a priority in partner discussions at the 23rd Ramstein meeting on June 13. Allies were urged to transfer not only Patriot systems, but others as well.

United States Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin spoke about this at a meeting of the Contact Group on the Defence of Ukraine. The public part of the event was broadcast online .

"On Patriot. You know that air defence is a priority. We emphasize every time that it is necessary to provide Ukraine with additional Patriot systems. But not only that. We spend a lot of time calling on other countries to transfer not only Patriot, but also other systems Air defence of Ukraine,” said the head of the Pentagon.

He said he had no new announcements on Patrot anti-aircraft missile systems after the meeting. However, Austin says work continues to provide additional capabilities to Ukraine’s defenders.

Austin also commented on the information that Poland refused to move Patriot to Ukraine.

"I have seen press reports. What I want to say is there will be no changes to our Patriot coverage in Poland. I know this has been reported, but there are no changes in Poland. To give Ukraine what it needs, we are working with other countries," – explained the head of the US Defence Ministry.
