DIU Special Forces tell what is happening on the outskirts of Vovchansk

According to the special forces, the Russians will make the city a “gray zone” 10-20 km deep.

On one of the flanks of the Kharkiv direction are soldiers of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s Chimeras unit, who are defending the village of Tykhe and preventing Russians from advancing in this direction.

The new video by the Ukrainian Witness project shows the Kharkiv region, the village of Tykhyne, located on the outskirts of Vovchansk. It is being defended by the guys from the Chimera unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine’s Timura special forces.

"The local terrain is not in the enemy’s favour. There are beams, height differences and extremely dense forests everywhere. It is difficult to get in with vehicles. But they use buggies and other mobile high-speed vehicles. And their equipment is getting better and better. In this regard, they are doing well," says the deputy commander with the call sign "Shendros".

Shendros also spoke about the operational situation in this area of the frontline.

"The Russians are trying to push us from the front, to bypass us from the left flank and from the side of Vovchansk, to get behind our backs. But the guys from the 57th Separate Mechanised Brigade are helping us. They are destroying the enemy and helping us out a lot," says the deputy commander.

Will the enemy take Vovchansk? Shendros believes that the Russians will succeed.

"They will make a ’grey zone’ 10-20 km deep around the city. This is to draw our forces away from other areas - from Donbas, the south, Zaporizhzhya. They want to keep us constantly on our toes. And, of course, to destroy: this bastard knows nothing else but to destroy," the fighter says.

The Russians are able to advance in this area because of the abundance of cannon fodder.

"Putin doesn’t care about these people. He has a target, and he keeps pushing and pushing. And we don’t care that he doesn’t care: we are reinforced and hold on to the last," says a communications officer with the call sign "Rafik".
