Verkhovna Rada proposes to raise the salaries of deputy assistants

People’s deputies of the Verkhovna Rada plan to raise the salaries of their assistants. A bill was introduced to parliament establishing monthly remuneration at more than 132 thousand hryvnia.

The corresponding bill was posted on theRada website.

The bill proposes an increase in the salaries of assistant consultants to people’s deputies from 88.4 thousand hryvnia to 132.6 thousand hryvnia. The head of the Committee on Social Policy, Halyna Tretyakova, submitted a corresponding proposal to parliament.

It recently became known that the average salary of officials over the four months of 2024 increased by 32%, exceeding the mark of 50 thousand hryvnia.

Let us note that as of June 28, the draft law was presented to the Committee for review and is being worked on.

Tretyakova noted that each deputy has the right to have 31 assistants, with whom an employment contract for cooperation is drawn up.

At the same time, she believes that due to the current level of salaries, “the stability of the system for supporting lawmaking is disrupted” and makes it more difficult for “deputies to ensure remuneration” for their assistants. She added that the initiative will not affect the country’s budget and the financing of the Verkhovna Rada for 2024.
