Almost 1400 AK-74 rifles disappeared from AFU warehouse in Zaporizhzhya
The violation was revealed by an audit conducted by the Eastern Office of the State Audit Service in Zaporizhzhya region following an internal investigation. The loss of 1,394 AK-74 5.45 mm rifles was recorded between 24 February 2022 and 3 February 2023.
The suspect in the case is an officer of the support department, a freelance head of the RAO service. He allegedly committed negligence in registering property, which led to the loss of the weapon.
Experts estimated the value of the lost property at 4.25 million hryvnia. The Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was declared under suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 425 CC.
