Russian officials and propagandists are trying to deny responsibility for the shelling of the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital.
The Institute for the Study of War ( ISW ) writes about this.
Military analysts emphasized that Russian media actors are making false statements about strikes, missiles and the condition of the hospital - all of which contradict existing evidence.
The Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation also warned that Russian propaganda sources are stepping up all sorts of information operations aimed at deflecting responsibility for the strike from Russia.
Specifically, Russian propaganda made false claims that Ukraine was using part or all of the hospital to treat wounded Ukrainian soldiers, that Ukraine was storing missiles in the hospital, and that the hospital was hit by Ukrainian air defence missiles and not a Russian missile.
