
As of 16:00 from the beginning of the day on July 9, 81 military clashes took place on the front line. More than a third of enemy attacks were recorded in the Pokrovsk direction.
However, Ukrainian soldiers are holding back the pressure of the Russians and inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. The General Staff spoke about the current situation on the front line in an operational report at 16:00.
“The number of military clashes along the entire front line is currently 81. The Russian invaders are focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk direction - more than 35 percent of all clashes took place there. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the onslaught of the occupying forces and inflicting significant losses on the enemy,” the report says.
In the border areas of Sumy and Chernihiv regions, Russians continue to commit terror with the help of artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation.
From the Belgorod region, enemy aircraft attacked the territory of the Kharkiv region with guided bombs; the bombs flew to the areas of the settlements of Lyptsi, Mali Prohody, and Hlubokoe.
“At the same time, our soldiers have currently repelled four assaults by the invaders in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia and Lyptsi, and two more attacks are ongoing,” the General Staff added.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried four times to storm the positions of our units at Berestove and Pischany.
The enemy became somewhat more active in the Lyman sector. It launched 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka and Terny. All engagements ended without success for the enemy.
The enemy continues to look for weaknesses in our defence in the Siversk sector. He conducted three attacks near Verkhnekamianske, Vyymka and Rozdolivka. He received a fierce rebuff. The occupants’ losses are being clarified.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders made three unsuccessful assaults near Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka and Andriivka. The enemy supported its offensive with attack aircraft, launching unguided missiles near Chasiv Yar.
The number of hostile attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to 9. The enemy is attacking near populated areas: Pivnichne, where our defenders repelled 5 attacks (one attack is currently ongoing), Pivdenne and New York, where two attacks were repelled. Fighting is still ongoing in two locations. The aggressor’s aviation is actively working, in particular, the settlement of New York was bombed, where the enemy dropped eight CABs, and the occupiers also fired at the area with unguided aerial missiles.
The Pokrovsk sector witnessed the highest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 29 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Tymofiivka, Karlivka, Kalynove, Yevhenivka, Yasnobrodivka, Progress and Novoselivka Persha. The defence forces are holding back the attack and have repelled 21 enemy attacks, with eight battles still ongoing. The enemy is concentrating its efforts near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The latter, along with Oleksandropil, were hit by NARs from attack aircraft. Russian terrorists struck the area of Myrnohrad with anti-aircraft missiles.
Four battles near Neitalove, Kostyantynivka and Paraskoviivka in the Kurakhove sector ended.
A firefight continues in the Vremivsk sector near Vodyane. Five enemy attacks have already been repelled by our units. The defence forces are taking measures to prevent the occupants from advancing deeper into our territory. Russian terrorists used five guided aerial bombs in the area. They also fired from multiple rocket launchers. In particular, near Urozhayne, Rivne and Staromayorske.
Three enemy attacks were repelled in the Orikhivsk sector near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.
In the Dnipro direction, the occupiers dropped seven CABs on Tyahynka and near it.
