The first details of the meeting between Zelenskyy and Biden at the NATO summit have appeared
According to the American president, the occupation group has been stopped in the Kharkov region, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces deserve compliments for this. And the advance in other areas of the front was stopped.
On July 11, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and White House head Joe Biden met on the sidelines of the Washington NATO summit. The meeting was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Office of the President.
Biden said that the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine has changed somewhat in recent months, but statements about the alleged defeat of Ukraine are not true. The occupation group has been stopped in the Kharkov region, and the advance in other areas of the front is no longer so acute.
“Look, you know, in recent months... stories about your defeat are not true, you are holding on. The fact is that over the past few months the battlefield in Ukraine has shifted, but Ukraine stopped Russia near Kharkov. This is a first, and it deserves compliments. Second, they slowed down Russian advances, forced Russia to suffer significant losses, and made it clear that Russia would not triumph in Ukraine, but Ukraine would triumph.
Eighth military aid package
"Two days ago, I announced historic deliveries of air defense equipment to Ukraine. Today, I am honored to announce a new security package for Ukraine. This will be the eighth package since we signed the National Security Act," Biden said.
According to Biden, together with the head of the US Department of Defense, Lloyd Austin, he will discuss the details of the law signed the day before.
“Together with our NATO allies, we are working to ensure that F-16 fighter jets are guaranteed to fly over Ukraine this summer. We are showing the world that we stand with Ukraine now and in the future,” Biden said.

The US President gave the floor to Zelenskyi, who thanked the Biden administration and all Americans for their support and good news for Ukraine.
According to him, accelerated steps are needed to lift all restrictions for Ukrainian defenders. He recalled the recent attack on the largest Ukrainian children’s hospital, Okhmatdyt. Biden immediately responded: “Crazy.”
Summarizing the outcome of the meeting, Biden said: "We remain with you. Period."
