The commander of a department on one of the ships of the Ukrainian Navy, who did not let his subordinates go ashore in Odesa without a bribe, was informed of suspicion of corruption.
The State Bureau of Investigation reports this.
In order to take a legal day off from the ship, his subordinates had to pay him 10 thousand hryvnia. According to operational data, he could earn at least 150 thousand hryvnia per month from sailors’ time off.
On July 9, 2024, law enforcement officers detained the defendant while receiving another payment in the amount of $1,000. He received this money from a subordinate for the opportunity to go on land on weekends for a month.
The serviceman was informed of suspicion that an official had received unlawful benefits (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code).
