On the night of July 18, the defenders of the Ukrainian sky destroyed 16 Russian Shahed-type drones and two X-59 guided missiles.
The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, announced this in a Telegram .
According to him, on the night of July 18, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 16 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type from the Kursk region and three guided aircraft missiles from the south: two X-59/X-69 and one X-35.
In total, radio engineering troops detected and tracked 19 air targets.
Mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, and electronic warfare units were involved in repelling the air attack.
As a result, the defenders of the skies managed to hit all 16 Shahed drones and two X-59 guided missiles in Dnipro, Poltava, Zaporizhzhya, Kyiv and Kharkiv regions, Oleshchuk said.
Most of the targets were destroyed in the eastern direction - in the area of responsibility of the Vostok air command.
