Two Energoatom officials will be tried for embezzlement of 100 million hryvnia
NABU and SAPO sent a case to court accusing four people, members of an organized group, of causing almost UAH 100 million in losses to NAEC Energoatom JSC.
This was reported by the NABU press service.
As the investigation established, in 2017-2020. For the needs of JSC NAEC Energoatom, work was carried out on the construction of a Centralized storage facility for spent nuclear fuel.
In 2020, due to adjustments to the construction project, the need arose to purchase works upon its completion.
In December of the same year, an agreement was concluded between the OP Atomproektengineering, which is part of the structure of JSC NNEGC Energoatom, and a private company, bypassing open tenders, to complete the construction of the storage facility.
“In order to seize the funds of the state-owned enterprise, additional agreements tripled the price of the contract - from 421 million UAH to 1.497 billion UAH, in particular adding to its terms the supply of equipment for a radiation monitoring system.
The contracting company purchased this equipment at market value, and in 2021 sold it to JSC NNEGC Energoatom at three times the price,” the statement says.
As a result of these actions, the state-owned enterprise overpaid about UAH 100 million.
October 25, 2023 about suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine reported :
- General Director of a separate division of NAEC Energoatom JSC;
- Head of the estimate and contract department of a separate division of NAEC Energoatom JSC;
- the head of a private company, his deputy and an employee of the legal department.
“During the pre-trial investigation, proceedings against one of the suspects were closed due to her death,” the NABU said.
