In Kharkiv, a TRC employee is suspected of extortion and taking a bribe

In Kharkiv reported suspicion to an official of the local RTRC and SS for extortion and taking a bribe.

This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defence of the Eastern Region.

“The investigation established that at the beginning of June 2024, a 42-year-old official of one of the RTRC and SS in Kharkiv demanded undue benefits for himself from the managers of a famous Kharkiv bar-restaurant,” the report says.

It is clarified that the man promised not to interfere with the work of the restaurant and not to carry out mobilization measures against its employees and visitors for 1.5 thousand dollars and a personal card with a permanent 20% discount on all services of the establishment.

In addition, the suspect promised to provide restaurant staff with fictitious documents guaranteeing them a deferment from mobilization for several weeks.

An employee of the TRC was detained while receiving part of the bribe in the form of a discount card in exchange for fictitious documents of the RTRC and SS.

The suspect was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention. The man faces imprisonment for a period of 5 to 10 years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years, with confiscation of property.
