Ministry of Economy spoke about the growth of wages in Ukraine
Ukrainian enterprises are increasing wages in order to retain and attract new highly qualified personnel in the context of a shortage of labor resources in the country.
This was reported by the media, with reference to the monitoring of major events in the Ukrainian economy (June 2024) by the Ministry of Economy .
As the ministry noted, the level of wages in 2023-2024 continues to be influenced by factors in 2022 - the consequences of active hostilities in a large territory of Ukraine, namely:
- temporary loss of significant territory;
- destruction of infrastructure and enterprises (or damage to them, which led to the suspension of their activities);
- significant permanent destruction of logistics;
- a significant number of working-age people abroad (migrants) and in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which creates significant structural imbalances in the labor market.
The Ministry provides data according to which the average salary in vacancies on job sites increased in July 2024 to 19,553 hryvnia.
In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, the average salary in the first quarter was 18,903 hryvnia. The highest salaries in the following areas:
- Information and telecommunications – 49,473 hryvnia,
- Financial and insurance activities – 39,116 hryvnia,
- Professional, scientific and technical activities – 26,316 hryvnia
- Public administration and defense – 23,376 hryvnia.
The education sector pays the least – 12,649 hryvnia.
