An earthquake of magnitude 7-7.5 is expected in Ukraine in the coming years
In the coming years, Ukraine is expected to experience an earthquake of 7-7.5 magnitude in the Vrancea seismic zone. Such a seismic event poses a danger to Ukraine, says Volodymyr Shlyakhovyi.
Local authorities should be primarily interested in determining the exact causes of earthquakes, the seismographer believes. Since their scientific institution will not be able to draw accurate conclusions without additional funding.

Without normal, thorough research, it is difficult for scientists to draw conclusions. Local authorities should be interested in this. We work mainly on enthusiasm. Previously, our research was carried out by a group of 12 people, but now there are only one or two people,” says Volodymyr Shlyakhovyi.
Such research will not cost too much, the necessary equipment is already there, only specialists are needed, the scientist explains.
