Ukrainian tank crews at a military training ground in Poland are learning to use and maintain the powerful Leopard 2A4 main battle tank under the guidance of instructors from NATO countries.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook .
As the General Staff emphasized, the training is part of the European Union Mission for Military Assistance to Ukraine (EUMAM UA) and is designed to support the Ukrainian army in its defence against Russia.
The Ukrainian military is trained under the guidance of instructors from the Alliance member countries - Poland and Norway.
"The Leopard 2A4 main battle tank is the foundation of many NATO armies, including Norway and Poland, whose instructors are committed to providing Ukrainian cadets with the opportunity to become more independent in their training," the statement said.
NATO members continue to step up their support, pledging at the Washington summit a minimum of 40 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine over the next year.
