Air defence forces shot down 53 "shaheds"

On the night of August 11, 2024, the enemy attacked with 4 KN-23 ballistic missiles and 57 Shahed-type attack UAVs, which the air defense forces hunted until noon and shot down almost all of them.

This was reported by the Commander of the Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk.

According to the military, the "shaheeds" were launched by the occupiers from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeisk, Kursk - RF. Of these, 53 were shot down in the Mykolaiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhya, Sumy, Rivne and Cherkasy regions.

The commander of the Armed Forces did not report the shooting down of ballistic missiles, but clarified that they were launched from the Voronezh region.

"As for the Russian strikes with North Korean missiles, I will say this: the KN-23 ballistic missiles, although they rarely reach their intended targets, pose a serious threat to the population. Take care of yourself and your loved ones."
