The High Anti-Corruption Court removed the electronic bracelet, but extended until October 23 the validity of other duties imposed on the mayor of Mukachevo in the Zakarpattia region, Andriy Baloha.

This decision was made by the HACC on August 23.

As is known, the anti-corruption court arrested the mayor of Mukachevo with the possibility of posting an alternative bail of UAH 30 million. This amount was posted for Baloha, and he was released from the pretrial detention center under the following obligations: to arrive at the first call; not to leave Mukachevo without permission; to report a change in his place of residence and work; to refrain from communicating with other suspects, witnesses and other persons; to hand over his passports for safekeeping and to wear an electronic bracelet.

The SAPO prosecutor asked to extend all the obligations. The defense asked to extend the ban on Baloha leaving Mukachevo to the borders of the Zakarpattia region. In addition, they asked not to extend the obligation to wear the bracelet due to the unstable operation of the device and constant power outages. The court allowed the mayor of Mukachevo to move freely throughout the territory of Zakarpattia and removed the bracelet from him.

"The petition is granted in part. Extend the term of the duties imposed on the suspect (Baloga - ed.) by two months, based on Part 5 of Article 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Determine the term of the duties imposed by the court on the suspect until October 23, 2024 inclusive," the decision says.
