Zelenskyy explained how the Kursk operation could affect the situation in Donbas

The operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region is fulfilling its tasks and is being implemented according to plan. This operation may affect the situation in Donbas.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a working visit to Zaporizhzhya. He noted that the situation in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions is currently difficult.

"The Kursk operation is implementing its tasks and is being carried out according to plan. Regarding the difficulties in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions, we believe that the Kursk operation can also influence this situation. The aggravation may decrease due to the reduction in the number of Russian troops. But for now, things are still difficult there," Zelenskyy noted.

The president added that it was precisely in this direction that combat-ready Russian brigades had always been concentrated. For Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the complete occupation of Donbas had been the main goal since the beginning of the war.

"This has always been the main goal - Donbas, the complete total occupation of Donbas. There has been no progress there for two days. This is what the commander-in-chief reported to me," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Let us recall that the President of Ukraine arrived on a working visit to Zaporizhzhya together with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof. They discussed important steps to strengthen defense and develop the region.
