Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced that the Netherlands, together with Ukraine, will allocate 400 million euros for the development of advanced drones.

This is reported by NOS.

"The Netherlands will allocate 400 million euros for the joint development of drones with Ukraine. Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans announced this during a visit to the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv," the statement reads.

According to the publication, about half of these funds will be spent in the Netherlands, with the remainder distributed among Ukraine and other countries participating in the project.

As the minister mentioned, the Netherlands has played a key role in supplying Ukraine with F-16s and Patriot systems. "Now we will continue this work with advanced drones by investing 400 million euros in the action plan. This includes various types of modern drones that can be used for reconnaissance, defense, and attack. Especially in the air, as well as on land and at sea," Brekelmans is quoted by the Dutch Ministry of Defence.

He also emphasized that the experience gained in Ukraine adds extra value to high-tech developments in the Netherlands. "If Dutch knowledge and technology are combined with Ukrainian combat experience, it will lead to the creation of innovative and effective drones. They can truly make a difference on the battlefield," said the head of the defense department.

It is noted that if the developed drones are successful, additional funds will be allocated for expanding their production.
