In Rivne, under the pretext of "counterintelligence measures," checks of conscripts were organized in shopping malls, local residents report.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) announced today that it is conducting "counterintelligence measures on the territory of Rivne aimed at preventing and neutralizing threats of intelligence and subversive activities against our state."
According to the SSU, the measures are being carried out jointly with the National Police, the National Guard, and "other components of the Defence Forces of Ukraine."
In practice, local residents say, law enforcement blocked exits from several shopping centers and checked documents of all men. This applied not only to visitors but also to vendors and other employees, even in store warehouses and restrooms.
