Yermak: Zelenskyy did not prohibit negotiations with the Russian Federation, only with Putin
Yermak noted that Zelenskyy did not prohibit negotiations with Russia.
When asked how Ukraine plans to invite the Russian Federation to the upcoming Peace Summit if negotiations with the Russians are banned by the president’s decree, the head of the OP clarified that only negotiations directly with Putin are prohibited.
«The decision of the NSDC concerns the impossibility of negotiating with Putin. As for the possibility of participation of Russian representatives, our position remains unchanged: when the plan is ready, and at the second summit, we do not rule out the possibility of the presence of Russian representatives, to whom this plan can be presented», - Yermak said.
Zelenskyy’s decree prohibiting negotiations with Putin was signed on September 30. In response, Russia accused Ukraine of lacking the desire for diplomatic resolution.
