This was stated by Roman Tyshkun, commander of the UAV unit of the second battalion of the 38th Marine Brigade.
The fact is, there are indeed situations when only a few people remain in the companies, but this does not mean that the entire personnel have perished.
Tyshkun explained that the lion’s share of losses occurs due to accompanying injuries that soldiers receive while performing combat missions.
“Even the good guys ‘wear out’,” says the serviceman. He adds that the American army established during the conflict in Iraq that military personnel can stay in a combat zone for six months. After that, their psychological and physical condition significantly deteriorates.
