Umyerov: Ukraine reached an agreement with Germany on the immediate reinforcement of air defence

Ukraine is taking confident steps to protect civilians and critical infrastructure. In particular, there is now an agreement with Germany for the immediate strengthening of air defence systems.

This became known from a  statement by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Rustem Umyerov.

"We are taking concrete steps to ensure the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure," Umyerov emphasized.

He explained that at the meeting of the G7 defence ministers, an important agreement was signed with Germany regarding immediate measures to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system.

"The agreement includes arrangements under which the signatory countries will contribute to joint projects or finance their own projects aimed at strengthening the air defence capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he explained.

At the same time, the Minister of Defence noted that, in addition to Ukraine, five more signatory countries will join the project: Germany, Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, and Denmark.

"I sincerely thank Germany for the initiative and all the participating countries for their strong contribution to Ukraine’s security. Together, we are bringing victory closer!" he concluded.
