Russian occupiers are striking crossings on the Oskil River, complicating evacuation from Kupyansk and neighboring settlements.
This is reported with reference to the head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, on Telegram.
According to him, 9,000 people need to be evacuated from the settlements in the Kupyansk direction, of which over 4,800 live in the settlements of the Kupyansk community.
The main focus of the evacuation is on the left bank of the Oskil River, where more than 2,700 civilians remain.
"The situation is complicated by the fact that the Russians are shelling the crossings, making it impossible to restore critical infrastructure in this area," added Syniehubov.
He noted that Russian shelling of crossings over the Oskil was recorded yesterday, October 22. Ukraine is currently working on restoring logistical connections.
