NABU has completed the investigation in the case of embezzlement of over 50 million hryvnias

NABU and SAPO have completed the investigation in the criminal case regarding the illegal appropriation of funds from JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" by an organized group that included UZ officials and entrepreneurs.

In 2018, the leader of the group, an entrepreneur, decided to take control of the commodity and cash flows of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." To achieve this, he reached out to long-time acquaintances among Government representatives and, with their assistance, secured the appointment of group members to management positions in UZ.

They subsequently ensured the victory of companies controlled by the group’s leader in tenders for the procurement of pneumatic tools and spare parts for freight cars. As a result of these actions, the crime participants appropriated over 50 million UAH from the company.
