Over 50,000 people are considered missing in Ukraine. Among them are children.

This was reported by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Tymchenko during a telethon.

"As of today, there are 53,868 people considered missing under special circumstances. These include civilians and military personnel. Among them are also children," Tymchenko noted.

He emphasized that since September 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been tasked with coordinating the search for persons considered missing.

Following this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs established a secretariat for the commissioner for persons missing under special circumstances, as well as regional offices of the secretariat.
