Shooting in a Kyiv hotel: Police have initiated a criminal case

The capital’s police have initiated a criminal case regarding a deadly shooting in a Kyiv hotel.

The incident occurred today at around 1:00 am. A conflict arose between two groups in the hotel premises, which escalated into a fight. During the altercation, one of the participants pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at the opponents.

A 27-year-old man died on the spot from the injuries he sustained, and the victim’s friend and a security guard were also injured. They were hospitalized in a satisfactory condition.

The police have detained one of the participants in the fight, and the shooter is currently being sought.

Criminal cases have been initiated under two articles of the Criminal Code: part 1 of article 115 - intentional murder, and part 2 of article 296 - hooliganism. The suspect faces up to fifteen years in prison.
