The Biden administration announced a new defence aid package for Ukraine

The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden today, December 7, announced a new security assistance package for Ukraine. Its provision is part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), with a volume of 988 million dollars.

This was reported by the White House.

"Today, the Department of Defence announced a significant new security assistance package to provide Ukraine with the necessary means to prevail against Russian aggression," the statement from the American leader’s office said.

It is reported that the assistance package will provide Ukraine with munitions for missile systems and unmanned aerial systems.

"This package also includes support for maintenance and repair programs to help Ukraine restore its Armed Forces and strengthen combat power," the White House reported.

The White House added that this is already the 22nd USAI package from the Biden administration.

"The United States will continue to cooperate with around 50 Alliance members and partners through the Ukraine Defence Contact Group and associated coalitions to ensure the capabilities needed to provide the support required for Ukraine to win the war," added Biden’s office.
