Banks should not require Ukrainians to authorize the disclosure of banking secrecy to receive the "Volodymyr’s Thousand," according to the Ministry of Economy.
The Ministry sent banks "an explanation regarding the inadmissibility of excessive requirements for the disclosure of banking information" in the context of implementing state programs "Winter Support" and "National Cashback."
"To credit the user with a 10% cashback for purchasing Ukrainian goods under the ’National Cashback’ program, the government only needs data on transactions related to the purchase or return of the respective goods. Information on other transactions is not needed by the government and is not requested from banks," reads the Cabinet’s explanation.
