The defenders of the sky shot down 56 Russian drones, with 49 more lost by location

The aggressor country Russia continues air attacks on Ukraine and during the night of December 15 used 109 means of attack, including a missile. As of 08:30 on Sunday, sky defenders shot down 56 attack drones, and the rest also did not reach the targets planned by the enemy.

Air defence operated in ten regions for 13 hours, as this enemy attack lasted that long (from 19:00 on Saturday). The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the details.

It is noted that the aggressor attacked Ukraine with an S-300 surface-to-air missile and 108 "Shaheds" and other types of UAVs from the Russian cities of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, and Millerovo.

The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units (EW), mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the Defence Forces of Ukraine. They shot down 56 Russian drones in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Khmelnytskyi, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Thanks to the active counteraction of the Defence Forces, 49 enemy UAVs did not reach their goals (lost location), and three more returned to Russia.

"Due to the fall of downed UAVs, infrastructure facilities, multi-story and private homes, cars, and citizens’ property in several regions of Ukraine were damaged, assistance is being provided to the victims," the message states.
