Russian forces managed to break through near Zelenivka as their column encountered little resistance, reports DeepState.
The capture of Zelenivka brought Russian troops closer to the road to Kurakhove, creating a threat of encirclement for a large area.
Initially, on December 15, three Russian BMPs set off from Maksymivka toward Zelenivka and, encountering little resistance, entered Zelenivka, deploying about 30 soldiers there. They were fired upon only on their way out.
