Convicts in Ukraine were allowed temporary departures beyond the colonies
The Verkhovna Rada has amended Article 111 of the Penal Enforcement Code, allowing prisoners to leave places of confinement in the event of a serious illness or death of close relatives.
- Convicts in minimum-security colonies will be able to leave independently for up to 7 days.
- Other convicts will be granted this opportunity for only 1 day and under escort.
